I Dont Know How She Does It.

She amazes me every time.
I dont know how she does it.
She is so different than me in this aspect.

She is excited, but also nervous as we pull into the soccer field parking lot. But she gets on the field and doesn't hesitate to start kicking the ball around. She doesn't look around, she doesn't second guess herself. She just moves. Confidently. Comfortably. Me? I would stand there and wait to be told what to do. I would wish for a hand to hold and guide me. I'd be too shy and insecure to do anything without guidance.

She listens as the coaches guide her. She gets complimented on her stops. I hear her "Thanks, my Dad's been teaching me" as she continues on with the drills. Again no hesitation to speak up. Just easy flowing conversation. Me? I would have shyly said thanks under my breath and kept my head down.

A short while later during a water break I see she has already made friends. At least four girls crowd around her. They are laughing and I hear her talking. She shouts something funny and they all laugh together. Its so easy for her. I dont think she even has to try. She is just so friendly, radiant. People cant help but be drawn to her, and smile when they are around her.

I am in awe. Again, I dont know how she does it. Little Miss Muscles is also Little Miss Popular! She doesn't get it from me, that's for sure! She is definitely JUST like The Daddy. But I enjoy this. I enjoy seeing that in her. Its interesting to see what its like growing up in this perspective.

Not surprisingly, one of the first things she said after practice was over was "Now I'm already friends with practically all the girls on the team!" Along with "I loved it! It was SO fun!" I love it. Her smile lights up any dark space! My heart is so happy. I'm so proud. Go, Kiah, Go!

  4. I am with Mona on this one, made me tear up and smile at the same time. She is growing so fast into an amazing person. What happened to the big sister who ditched her little brother in the nursery alone LOL
